President Museveni Expected to Preside Over Speakership Elections Tomorrow As NRM MPs Endorse Oboth Oboth And Tayebwa
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party members of parliament gave endorsed Jacob Oboth Oboth, MP for West Budama Central, and Thomas Tayebwa, the MP for Ruhinda North in Mitooma District to be elected tomorrow as the next Speaker and Deputy Speaker .
During the NRM MPs caucus held at State House Entebbe and presided over by President museveni , a unanimous decision was reached that the two gentlemen be elected to oversee the work of the 12th parliament . The elections will be held tomorrow at kololo Independence grounds ..

After the meeting President Museveni said that he welcomed the endorsement of Oboth Oboth as candidate for Speaker and Tayebwa as candidate for Deputy Speaker.
“I congratulated them and reminded the Caucus that since the inception of the NRM, we have rejected bad politics. When choosing leaders, we must first ask what needs to be done for the people before asking who should do it., ” Museveni said adding that the politics of identity, religion, tribalism and gender chauvinism must be rejceted , and instead focus on solving people’s problems.
“Our priority remains wealth creation and social- economic transformation through productive engagement in agriculture, services, artisanship and ICT.,” he added.
