Maj Gen Busizoori New Land Forces Deputy Commander

The Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced a reshuffle of senior Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) commanders, with several General Officers transferred and appointed to new positions.

Major General Joseph Ssemwanga has been transferred from his position of Deputy Commander Land Forces and appointed the General Officer Commanding of the Reserve Forces.

He replaces Lt General Charles Otema Awany who is due for retirement next week.

The fourth Infantry Division Commander Maj General Felix Busizoori is appointed the Deputy Commander of the Land Forces while Maj General Wilberforce Sserunkuma who has been serving as the third Infantry Division Commander has been  appointed the fourth Infantry Division Commander.

The reshuffle has also seen the deputy commander of the first infantry division, Brig Gen Micheal Hyeroba has been appointed the third Infantry Division Commander.

“The transfers and appointments take immediate effect,” Col Magezi said.

The changes come at a time as a number of long serving UPDF officers are set for official retirement next week as they bring a curtail to their time in acting service of the Ugandan army.
