President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to pick nomination papers this Saturday at the NRM Electoral Commission (EC) offices as he seeks to retain the positions of the NRM chairman and party presidential flag bearer in the 2026 elections.
The NRM EC Chairman, Dr Tanga Odoi, revealed today morning in a press conference.
“Like other candidates, the President and National Chairman of NRM will express interest and also pick nomination forms by himself,” Dr Tanga told journalists.
“He will pick expression of interest forms for two positions, one for chairperson of the party and the other to contest if he is given a chance for presidential flag bearer,” he added.
The expression of interest and picking of nomination forms for all positions of the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) will start next week on the 26th of June to July 1st.
Nominations of the aspirants will take place on the 4th.
Meanwhile, nominations of MPs and district chairperson aspirants enter week two at the Electoral Commission offices at plot 13, Kyadondo Road, Kampala.
