Electoral Commission Releases Special Interest Groups (SIGs) Elections Roadmap
As part of the implementation of the 2025/2026 General Elections Roadmap, the Electoral Commission has issued the programme for the conduct of elections of SIGs (Older Persons, Persons with Disabilities, and Youth) Committees from the Parish to the National level.
The Commission calls on all stakeholders to take note of the attached timelines and to participate in the respective activities following the guidelines for the elections.

This initiative reflects the Commission’s broader commitment to inclusive governance by ensuring fair representation of all segments of society. From the grassroots level to national structures, the SIGs elections aim to bring every voice into the decision-making process.
The Commission urges all stakeholders citizens, civil society organizations, and leaders at every level to actively participate and support the process. Nomination forms for aspiring candidates are now available on the Electoral Commission’s official website: https://www.ec.or.ug/nomination-forms. Eligible members of the SIGs are encouraged to download, complete, and submit the forms promptly.
