Museveni Promotes Crime Intelligence Boss Brig Christopher Damulira to Major General
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promoted Uganda Police’s Crime Intelligence Director, Brig Gen Christopher Sserunjogi Damulira, to the rank of Major General in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), in recognition of his distinguished service in securing the country against criminal and terrorist threats.
Gen Damulira’s promotion was communicated by President Museveni who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Damulira, has served in the role of Director of Crime Intelligence since 2019. He is credited for fighting crime in Kampala and other urban centers . He was mobilised the youth in ghettos to denounce crime and get rehabilitated into responsible citizens .
Damulira’s approach has blended sophisticated surveillance, rapid-response coordination, and multi-agency intelligence sharing, making Crime Intelligence one of the most dynamic arms of Uganda’s internal security architecture.
In October 2023, during Uganda’s 61st Independence Day celebrations, Museveni awarded him the Exemplary Order of Service (Class II) medal, one of the highest decorations in the Uganda Police Force, for his unwavering commitment and professional conduct.
