EXCITEMENT AS CAMPAIGNS FOR OMORO COUNTY MP SEAT KICKOFF
There was excitement in Omoro County as campaigns for the MP seat to replace the late speaker Jacob Oulanyah got underway . At least six contestants are vying for the seat including the son of the late Oulanyah , Andrew Ojok Oulanyah who is running on the NRM ticket .
Other candidates are FDC’s Justin Odong, National Unity Platform’s Tolit Simon Akecha , Oscar Kizza of Alliance for National Transformation, Jimmy Walter Onen and Terence Odonga both independents. The campaigns will run up to May 24th ,2022 and the polling will take place on May 26th May 2022, according to the Electoral commission.
The NRM candidatet, Andrew Ojok Oulanyah launched his village-based campaigns at Te Olam village, Olam Parish in Odek Sub-county. Ojok will use a door to door campaign strategy to win the hearts of the people ahead of the by-elections.
Ojok has also addressed a series of scientific meetings in the parishes of Olam, Palaro in Odek Sub-county, canvassing votes and asking voters to support the NRM programmes including the Parish Development Model. Oulanya is expected to expected to hold similar gathering in Acet Central Parish, Acet Town Council, and in the parishes of Gem and Minja in Lalogi Sub-county.
