STI Minister Dr. Musenero Declares She Wont Contest For An MP Seat In The 2026 General Elections
STI Minister Dr. Monica Musenero has finally come out to tell the public that she will not contest for an MP seat in the 2026 general elections .
Speculation has been on the rise that Musenero was laying the ground to mount a major campaign for an MP seat in her home area after she has been involved in many community mobilisation activities in the last couple of months.
Talking to the media at the weekend ,Dr. Musenero said that she has no intentions of contesting for any political position in Butebo or any other part of Bukedi region.
“I want to make this clear, I am not going to contest for any position in 2026. The assignment I have on the table is too huge, I don’t want to mix the two. If I am to contest, I will spend two years mobilizing for votes and yet we have issues that need me to work for 20 hours a day,” she explained .
Dr Musenero said that she has told President Museveni about her decision not to stand for an elective political office and instead she would mobilized the masses to vote for the president come 2026. ““Do for me one thing, vote Mzee and he will vote for me.” “Because I have one voter, if you vote for him, he will vote for me. “
On Thursday, August 22, Dr. Musenero will hold a thanksgiving ceremony in Butebo District at Petete Primary School grounds to celebrate more than 30 years service to the country and the people of Butebo. President Museveni is expected to attend.
