Uganda’s CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba ,has attends the funeral of his St Marys Kisubi Old Boy (OB) and friend Hon Cedric Ndilima Babu in Kamengo- Mpigi district.
At the time of his death, Babu was the PLU coordinator central Buganda and was a chess player and sports enthusiats .
In a message delivered on behalf of President Yoweri Museveni, the late Cedric Babu was described as a promising cadre among those NRM was deliberately preparing for the next transition. Museveni said that Cedric Babu’s death at an early age was a regrettable loss.
In a speech read on her behalf by the State Minister for Sports, Peter Ogwang, the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni, hailed Babu as a dedicated sports administrator who changed the face of tennis in Uganda.
Cedric, died on May 31 aged 50.He rose to prominence as a tennis champion and went on to lead the Uganda Tennis Association before taking on various roles in broadcasting and public service.
He also served as a board member of the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation and contested for political office in Kampala Central during the 2021 general elections.
