The Electoral Commission is recruiting BVVK Operators to support voter verification over four election rounds. Each operator will be deployed at a specific polling station, working under the direct supervision of the Presiding Officer. The role focuses on operating the Biometric Voter Verification Kits, verifying voters, and ensuring secure handling of election materials.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the polling station receives two BVVK devices.
Confirm both BVVK devices are fully charged and ready for use.
Securely store BVVKs and restrict access to unauthorized individuals.
Support the opening and closing procedures of the polling station.
Verify voters using the biometric system.
Scan ballots before issuing them to voters and again before counting.
Scan the Declaration of Results Form before sealing it in tamper-proof envelopes.
Scan the Accountability of Ballot Papers form after polling.
Comply with all data security and integrity policies.
Timeline
BVVK Operators will be engaged and deployed as needed throughout the 2025/2026 General Elections cycle, depending on the electoral schedule.
Expected Outputs
Accurate biometric verification of all voters who report at the assigned polling station.
Proper verification and scanning of all cast ballots.
Reporting
Reports directly to the Presiding Officer at the polling station.
Qualifications, Competencies & Requirements
Minimum of A’ Level Certificate from a recognized institution.
Experience using smart devices running Android is an added advantage.
Must be a registered voter in the district of application.
Must provide a mobile phone number registered in the applicant’s own name.
Location
Deployment will be polling-station based within the applicant’s respective district.
