In a dramatic turn of events the Babiito Royal clan leaders have announced a UBC journalist as Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma as the new Tooro Kingdom King.
Kijanangoma will replace Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV who died of brain cancer Texas USA at the age of 34.
The proposed new King is said to be a born again member of the Watoto Church in Ntinda and is said to be aged 50 years and above .
A 21 Babiito clan’s succession committee announced Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma as the chosen successor to ascend the throne as the newOmukama of Tooro. Sources told ugandaupdatenews.com that 19 out of the 21 committee members voted in Kiijanangoma’s favour.
Kijanangoma has worked as a news anchor , editor and resoruce manager at the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC TV).
He has been married to Rebecca Amoding since December 2018.
The Babiito Royal clan s decision was annnounced by Vicar General of Fort Portal Msgr. Isiah Mayombo.
