Tooro’s King Oyo’s Remains To Be Received By President Museveni At Entebbe International Tomorrow Morning And Nine Day Mourning Will Commence

The repatriation of the remains of the late Omukama of Tooro, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, has been rescheduled from Thursday to Friday, September 4, 2026.

According to a revised program released by the Tooro Kingdom, the remains are expected to land at Entebbe International Airport on Friday morning, where President Yoweri Museveni will pay his final respects at 10 am.

The remains will subsequently be airlifted by helicopter to Kyegegwa District before being transported by open-road carrier to Karuziika Palace in Fort Portal City, allowing subjects along the route to pay their last respects to the fallen monarch.

Mourners continue to gather at the Karuziika Palace as traditional rites and mourning preparations proceed across the kingdom.
