Prof. Nangoli Is The New Boss of Government Printers
The government printers -Uganda Printing and Publishing Company (UPPC) has got a new Managing Director, Prof Sudi Nangoli.
He took over office today at a function held at the company’s offices in Entebbe and presided over by the Board Of Directors led by their Chairman veteran journalist , Joachim Buwembo.
The UPPC has not had a substantive MD for over two years after the company was caught up in a series of financial and management scandals that led to the loss of billions of shillings. Prof Nangoli has a PHD in management and he has been an Associate Professor – at Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
Nangoli takes over office from Kenneth Oluka who has been acting Managing Director since 2021. ” We should appreciate and allow other publishers to thrive as we take the lead . in the market , there is a lot of competition but we want to ride on cooperation and not competition ,” he stressed.
Oluka has been been appointed the head Publishing . Board Chair ,Joachim Buwembo, thanked Oluka for steering the institution during trying times.
Nangoli pledged to focus on ICT Innovations in printing and publishing to compete on the global scale.
Oluka while handing over office said, the institution still grapples with lack of cooperation amongst workers which he said can be solved through encouraging team work and dialogue.
