President Museveni Names New Cabinent: Veterans Ali, Kasaija, Amongi, ,Nankabirwa Dropped As Barugahara, Mutende and Nameere Eat Big

President Yoweri Museveni , has named a new cabinet appointing Dr. Crispus Walter Kiyonga as the new 2nd Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament to enforce the strict implemntation of the NRM manifesto under the new Kisanja of “no sleep and no corruption .

First Lady Janet Museveni has kept the Education and Sports Ministry docket.

Museven has also dropped some veterans from cabinent and these include Moses Ali, Ruth Nankabirwa , Matia Kasaija , Gen. Jeje Odongo among others .

Businessman and events promoter Balaam Barugahara has been appointed as the substantive Minister of Local Government. This marks an elevation for Balaam, who previously served as the State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs.

He is also strong mobiliser of the First Son and CDF , Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, under the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) pressure group.

Former Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka has been moved from the Justice ministry and appointed Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, replacing Jacob Oboth Oboth the new Speaker of the National Parliament .

Veteran Journalist and former Police Spokesperson Judith Nabakooba Nalule has been retained as Minister of Lands Housing and Urban Development while Gen Henry Tumukunde is the new minister of of Gender, Labour and Social Development, replacing the controversial Beti Amongi.

Other newcomers include , veteran journalist and diplomat Ambassador Adonia Ayebare elevated to Minister of Foreign Affairs, replacing Gen. Jeje Odongo. Ayebare has served as Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and has been central to Kampala’s diplomatic engagements on regional security, climate financing and multilateral affairs.

Museveni also appointed Justine Nameere as Minister of State for Local Government and Dr. Lawrence Muganga, the Vice Chancellor of Victoria University, who was named Minister of State for Internal Affairs.

Dr. Monica Musenero is gthe new Minister of Energy and Mineral Development Ministry while accountant -Henry Musasizi becomes the susbtstantive Minister of the powerful Finance Ministry.Frank Tumwebaze remained at Agriculture.

Dr.Jane Ruth Aceng, who previously served as  Health Minister has been gtransfered to the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance , replacing Chris Baryomunsi, who has moved to Health.

Generals Katumba Wamala is the new Minister of Public Service and Kahinda Otafiire Minister of Water and Environment.

Ruth Nankabirwa, Francis Mwebesa and Evelyn Anite, have been appointed Senior Presidential Advisors. Dr. Kenneth Omona was transferred to the diplomatic service as ambassador.

These proposed ministerial names have been forwarded to the Parliament of Uganda for formal vetting and confirmation.
