President Museveni has appointed new AIGPs
President Museveni has appointed five new police officers at the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) which is third highest rank in the police force in the latest promotion in ranks of police officers.
Those appointed AIGPs include AIGP Edyegu Richard, AIGP Kali Ali Fadulu, AIGP Nuwagira John, AIGP Ocaya James and AIGP Rubindi Ruhuuma who are promoted from the rank of Senior Commissioner of Police .
Addressing the media at the Ministry of internal affairs headquarters in Kampala Minister Kahinda Otafire revealed that Police authority forwarded the names to the President for appointment.
Gen Kahinda Otafire said that the president appointed 9 police officers from the rank Commission of police to senior commissioner of police who include Fred Enanga, Nuwabine Lawrence, Namutebi Hadijjah, Mwesigwa Frank, Moses Kafeero, Baryamwisaaki Felix, Ssewanyana Yusufu among others.
Those promoted from the Rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police to Commissioner of Police who are 33 in total include, Namaye Police, Charles Ssebambulidde, Hassan Kihanda, Kibwiika Sarah, Kulaigye Hillary, Namuwoza Dennis and among others.
The minister stated that among the promoted officers included 69 officers who have promoted from the rank of Senior Superintendent of police to Assistant Commissioner of Police, 137 officers who have been promoted from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of police to Senior Superintendent of police and 358 officers who have promoted from the rank of Inspector of police to Assistant Superintendent of police
In total 773 police officers were promoted at various ranks from rank of Inspector of police to Assistant Inspector General of Police because of their service in the police force .
