Woman Who Slapped Traffic Policeman And stole State Property Has Been Remanded To Luzira Prison
An NRM Secretariat employee Mercy Timbitwire, who slapped a traffic policeman has been produced before the Nakawa Chief Magistrate Court and charged with robbery of two mobile phones worth Ug.Shs.800,000 and an EPS Machine valued at ug.Shs.14M being property of the Uganda Police Force, assaulting a police officer and being an accessory after the fact of a felony.
Timbitwire ,a Public Relations Officer in the office of the NRM Secretariat was also charged for reckless driving , failure to comply with a police officer’s orders and using a motor mobile without third party insurance .
Following a video clip that went viral on social over the weekend , Timbitwire was immediately arrested and subsequent videos show her relatives reprimanding her for being violent and not respecting a police officer on duty .
Ugandans also took to the social media to condemn this woman’s wanton public actions and called for anger management when one feels aggrieved .
Ugandans also called out public servant and state agents who abuse the law thinking that they can not be brought to book.
Misbehaviour by people driving government cars and security agents has since forced the UPDF’s military police to deploy its officers along side the Uganda traffic police to restore discipline on public roads .
