Speaker Anita Among is pressing ahead with her plans to have regional parliamentary sittings in cities across the country the first on now being scheduled for August 28th , 2024 at Kaunda grounds in Gulu city , northern Uganda .
This new development is against opposition from some leaders including Internal Affairs Minister that the sittings in regional cities across the coiuntry are a waste of tax payers money .
The regional sessions will be held in accordance with the provisions of Article 95(2) of the Constitution, read together with Rules 7 and 8 of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament, which allows the Speaker to determine the place and time within Uganda where Parliament may sit,
