JUSTICE OWINY -DOLLO NOMINATED NEXT CHIEF JUSTICE AS THE JUDICIARY IS ACCUSED OF CORRUPTION TENDENCIES AND MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE

Just as the top honchos of the NRM party were tussling out on who will be on the CEC for the next five years , President Yoweri Museveni threw a spanner in the works when he appointed JusticeAlfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo the 14th Chief Justice of Uganda since independence .
Justice Owiny -Dollo will be deputized by Justice Richard Buteera former Director Public Prosecution .
Impeccable sources have intimated to ugandaupdatenew.com that the appointment authority President Yoweri Museveni has already written to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga who has also had a landslide win for the NRM party ‘s CEC Vice Chairperson in charge women, that he had nominated Justice Alfonso Owiny-Dollo and Supreme Court Judge Richard Buteera to head the judiciary going forward.
Justices Owiny- Dollo and Richard Buteera will take over the leadership of the judiciary which has of late been in the limelight for corruption tendencies and miscarriage of justice- just months after Justice Justice Bart Katureebe retired retied on June 20th.
The new justices will preside over the Supreme Court of Uganda- the highest judicial organ in Uganda. It derives its powers from Article 130 of the 1995 Constitution. It is primarily an appellate court with original jurisdiction in only one type of case: a presidential election petition

The other members of the Sumpreme court the top most appellate court in Uganda will be
Alfonse Owiny-Dollo, Eldad Mwangusya, Rubby Opio Aweri, Faith Essy Mwondha, Lillian Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza, Richard Buteera[, Paul Mugamba ,Michael Chibita, Ezekiel Muhanguzi and these could determine who will be the next president of Uganda in case there is another Presidential elections petition .
Who is Owiny-Dollo
Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo is a Ugandan lawyer and judge. He serves as the Acting Chief Justice of Uganda, since 22 June 2020 and was a deputy Chief Justice from 30 September 2017.

Who is Richard Buteera
Richard Buteera, also Richard Butera, is a Ugandan lawyer and judge who has served as a member of the Supreme Court of Uganda since September 2017. Immediately prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, he served as a Justice of the Uganda Court of Appeal. During the early 2010s, he served as the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), in the Uganda Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, prior to his appointment to the Court of Appeal.
