Uganda Now Has 101 Certified E-Bus Operators

Uganda now has 101 certified e -Bus Operators (Drivers) after they completed a professional electric bus operators skilling program conducted by the country’s automotive industry flagship Kiira Motor Corporation at Luwero Industries in Nakasongola district.
The certified e-bus operators were passed out at a ceremony presided over by Kiira Motors Director of Product Development , Mr. Richard Madanda.
Madanda implored the bus operators to be dedicated and apply their acquire skills in a responsible manner for the development and upscaling of Uganda’s nascent automotive industry and transition to e- mobility technologies for economic growth and national development .
This fully funded and comprehensive Electric Bus Operator Skilling Program commenced in December 2023 with a mission of building a better Uganda through mobility technology .
The skilling program aims to educate 6,000 e-bus drivers by 2028.
