Speaker Among receives the late MP Ogwal’s body as parliament releases official burial program
The body of the late Dokolo woman MP Cecilia Ogwal has be returned home and was received at the cargo area of Entebbe International Airport by the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among and family members.
Hon Ogwal was suffering from cancer and died at age of 77 in India .
President Yoweri Museveni has since accorded the late Hon Ogwal an official burial, with a special Parliament sitting in her honour slated for tomorrow Monday 22 January 2024.
Speaker Among received the body in the company of Government Chief Whip Hon Hamson Obua, Health Minister Hon Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, Sports Minister Hon Peter Ogwang and other Parliamentary Commissioners among them Solomon Silwany and Esther Afoyocan.
Ogwal’s has been taken to Mulago Hospital for a post mortem, embalming and thereafter a vigil will be held at her home in Bugolobi this evening.
