Speaker Among Inspects Entebbe International Airport Ahead of CSPOC 2024 Set For Next Week

Speaker of Parliament, Anita Annet Among has this afternoon  toured Entebbe international Airport ahead of the 27th  Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth that is slated for 3rd-6th January 2024.

The Speaker noted with satisfaction the well done renovations and expansion of the International Airport and its readiness to ensure smooth and efficient arrival experience for all COSPOC delegates . State-of-the-art facilities and meticulous planning has been put in place for the visitors .

 Uganda is ready to host the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC), the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, told Heads of Mission and representatives of Commonwealth member countries in Uganda recently .

“I call upon you to embrace the meeting and seek your support in making this conference a success. This conference can only be a success once you communicate to your Speakers and Presiding Officers how ready we are, how secure the country is and how beneficial this conference will be for your country and Uganda.

The Uganda we are in today is the Pearl of Africa, it has everything. When visitors come to Uganda, they have visited East Africa. When we host as Uganda, we host as East Africa.” Speaker Among said.

Uganda was elected to host of the conference at the last CSPOC which took place in Canberra, Australia, January 2023. The Conference will take place from 3rd to 6th January, 2024 at Speke Resort Munyonyo. 

Uganda will lead discussion on the theme, ‘Diverse and inclusive Parliament, Youth and Gender Sensitivity’ alongside the Parliament of Pakistan.
