President Kagame attended the UEFA Champions League semi final first leg in Paris where Visit Rwanda partner PSG defeated Bayern Munich 5–4 in a high-scoring match. The appearance highlights Rwanda’s strategic sports diplomacy, promoting tourism via partnerships with top European clubs.
As a key partner, PSG features “Visit Rwanda” branding, promoting the country to a global audience.
President Kagame’s attendance underscores Rwanda’s active sports marketing strategy, which includes partnerships with Arsenal FC, Atlético de Madrid, and Bayern Munich.
The high-scoring game featured goals from players like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé for PSG, while Harry Kane and others scored for Bayern.
The second leg is scheduled for May 6 at the Allianz Arena in Germany.
