Several revelers escaped with injuries as a devastating fire gutted Sunrise Hotel along Khamis Road in downtown Kampala destroying property in millions of shillings .
Community effort was at play as citizens help the residents in the hotel to escape through windows some without clothes .
The cause of the fire was yet to be established but the fire brigade managed to put out the fire before it spread to neighboring structures .
Firefighters contained the blaze in time , saving many lives .
