NRM CEC HAS NOT ENDORSED ANY CANDIDATE FOR THE EALA VACANT SEAT

The NRM Central Executive Committee has not yet endorsed any candidate for the vacant seat at the East Africa Legislative Assembly EALA to replace  the late Mathias Kasamba.

The are a number of candidates who have  expressed interest to represent Uganda at EALA and these including  Mr. Ambrose Murangira , James Kakooza  , Kiwanda Ssuubi and Nakato Kyabanji among others .

A statement issued by  NRM Secretary General  Richard Awany Todwong indicated that CEC directed the NRM Electoral Commission to start the process of expression of interest for the by-election of the EALA representative  replacing the late Kasamba and the election of the NRM Parliamentary Caucus Executive of the 11th parliament .

“ No decision was made about the candidates and they are strong candidates who have privately expressed interest including Ambrose Murangira and others . The NRM  Electoral Commission will announce the  roadmap for this process to be completed ,” a reliable source privy to the CEC meeting told this publication.

The Secretary General said in his communication that CEC however, approved the appointments of Richard Awany Todwong as SG, Rose Namayanja Nsereko  Deputy SG, and Hon Barbra Nekesa  Oundo the new national treasurer .

CEC also approved  names of the Chairpersons , Deputy Chairpersons  and members of the parliamentary standing and sessional committees of the 11th parliament .
