Ministry of Justice Opens Kabale Regional Office
The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs (MoJCA) has today officially commission its Kabale Regional Office, with the Chief Justice, Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija.
The activity aims to strengthen the Ministry’s service delivery by decentralizing key legal and administrative services, making them more accessible to the people of Kabale and the surrounding regions.
This development underscores the government’s commitment to improving access to justice and enhancing efficiency in the administration of legal services. Officials emphasised that the new offices are geared at taking essential legal services closer to the people of the Kigezi region, reduce the cost of seeking justice, and alleviate congestion at the main headquarters in Kampala.

The office is part of the Ministry’s efforts to improve access to justice, as noted in their five-year strategic plan (FY2025/26–2029/30), which includes establishing regional offices in Kabale, Masaka, Iganga, Hoima, and Lira.
he office is expected to house the Attorney General’s chambers, providing crucial legal representation in civil matters to the local community and local governments.
This development follows the recent trend of localizing judicial services, including the introduction of Court of Appeal sessions in Kabale.
