Entebbe International Airport Passenger Numbers Rise As The Economy Bounces Back From Covid-19
The Entebbe International Airport has recorded sharp rise in international passengers with 185,253 travvelers registered in the month of July 2023.
The figures represented 93,727 arrivals and 91,526 departures an average of 5,975 passengers per day and the highest passenger traffic ever recorded in a single month, according to the Civil Aviation Authority Spokesman , Mr. Vianney M. Luggya. The figures are a clearly show that the aviation industry continues to recover from the more than two years of Covid -19 battering .
“The July 2023 traffic reflects an additional 24,338 passengers to those recorded in the previous month of June 2023, which had a total of 160,915. It is also more than that recorded in the same period of July 2022, which was 151,653 & higher than the 166,980 recorded in July 2019,” Luggya explained .
About cargo in July 2023 the Entebbe airport recorded 4,198 metric tonnes of cargo and 1,547 metric tonnes of cargo which is a total of 5,745 metric tonnes of cargo.
