Entebbe Airport Continues To Register Record Passenger Traffic
Entebbe International Airport has registered increased passenger traffic with the month of August 2024, having a record 212,701 international passengers, an average of 6,861 passengers per day, the highest in the history of the airport in a single month, according to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) Spokesperson, Mr. Vianney Luggya.
The totals have 108,055 were departing, and 104,646 were arriving passengers.
“The second highest figure recorded at Entebbe International Airport in a single month was a total of 198,961, an average of 6,418 per day, in December 2023, while the third highest was in January 2024, a total of 196,211 international passengers (99,216 arriving and 96,995 departing), an average of 6,329 per day,” Luggya said.
In relation to cargo, the airport handled 3,525 metric tones of exports and 1,885 metric tones of imports, a total of 5,410 metric tones in August 2024.
International tourist arrivals reached 1,274,210 visitors, up 56.5 percent from 2022 (814,508).
