The Electoral Commission (EC) has set October 2 and 3rd October 2025 the dates for the nomination of candidates for presidential elections .
In a roadmap released by the EC , nomination of candidates for parliament of Uganda will take place on 16th and 17th September , 2025.
Nominations of candidates for local governments including Special Interest Groups (SIGs) will take place between 3rd and 12th September , 2025.
Polling period for presidential, parliamentary and local government councils including SIGs will take place between 12th January, 2026 and 12th February, 2026.
The EC Chairperson , Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi has urges the various stakeholders in the electoral process to use the roadmap to improve in the planning for participation and implementation of electoral activities.
