UCAA Holds 3rd Aviation Run To Set Up Sanitary Pad Factory In Namayingo District
Hundreds of Ugandans have gathered in Entebbe and participate in the 3rd Annual Entebbe Aviation Run organized by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) to raise awareness and also contribute to the welfare of the girl child in the rural districts that lack sanitary materials forcing some to even drop out of school.
Officials said that the proceeds collected during the aviation run will be used to establish a community-owned reusable sanitary pad manufacturing facility in Budondo ,Namayingo District.
This follows reports that some girls in Buyala Village, Budondo sub-county in Namayingo were using unhygienic polythene bags filled with soil as an alternative to sanitary towels.
