ALL IS SET FOR THE 78TH IATA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND WORLD AIR TRANSPORT SUMMIT
The 78th IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit is set to be held in Qatar’s capital Doha to elect office bearers and deliberate on the future of the aviation industry following two years of a devastating global-novel Covid 19 pandemic.
The IATA AGM will see the election of Members to the Board of Governors. Key note speakers will include Mr.Willie Walsh, Director General, IATA , H.E. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Robin Hayes, CEO, JetBlue Airways and Chair, IATA Board of Governors Al Rayyan.
Other topics to be discuss at this global event will include the implications for the globalized world in which aviation operates and lessons learned from the pandemic ;Aviation Sustainability- especially on what can be done about Single Use Plastics (SUP).
There will also be a debate about what aviation industry can do in support of global efforts to reduce SUP and the reputational challenges of carbon offsets in general .
The summit will also address safety issues to examine among others the progress made to ensure safe carriage of Lithium Batteries.
