Uganda Team For The 2024 Paris Olympics Named
The Uganda Athletics Federation has named the Uganda team that will participate in the highly anticipated 2024 Paris Olympics that will begin on July 26..
Uganda will have participants in the Athletics, Rowing, Cycling and Swimming events . Team Uganda will have 20 athletes including gold medal prospects , Jacob Kiplimo, Oscar Chelimo, and Victor Kiplangat.
World Record beater Joshua Cheptegei, is part of the team that will run in the 5,000m and 10,000m events.
In the last Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Uganda brought home four medals with eruth Chemutai winning gold, Jacob Kiplimo bronze, and Joshua Cheptegei (gold and silver).
Uganda has a long history of winning medals in the olympics starting with the late John Akibua who won gold in the 400m hurdles, in Munich 1972, Davis Kamoga brought home a bronze medal in 400m, 1996- Atlanta, and Stephen Kiprotich won gold in Marathon, 2012 London.

Halima Nakaayi (800m), Winnie Nanyondo (1500m), Joy Cheptoyek (5000m/10,000m), Esther Chebet (5000m), Sarah Chelangat (10,000m), Annet Chelangat (10,000m), Peruth Chemutai (3000m SC), Stella Chesang (Marathon), Rebecca Cheptegei (Marathon), Mercyline Chelangat (Marathon).
