Uganda Society of Architects (USA) and the Architects Registration Board (ARB) is set to hold a one-day symposium on October 2nd ,2026 when the association in will mark 60 years of existence.
The Symposium will be held under the theme: “USA @ 60 Years and ARB @ 30 years – Reflecting on the Past Achievements, Siezing Today’s Opportunities and Addressing the Future.”
According to a press statement released by the two bodies ,the one day symposium will be held at the Kabira Country Club Kampala .

Officials said that the event will review the evolution of architecture in the past 60 years; the role of architects and partners in the profession and how prepared we are as architecture is shaped for the future.
The Guest of Honor will be Thomas Tayebwa, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, while the Keynote Address will be delivered by Arch. Barnabas Nawangwe, the Vice Chancellor of Makerere University and a key founder of the Department of Architecture at Makerere.

The symposium will have key speakers and panel sessions focusing on the Past 60 years; reviewing of how architecture has evolved and the contribution of architects in shaping the built environment, the present role of architects and other professionals and the future of architecture and its practice in the next 60 years.
“ We shall host several senior architects, young professionals and expert in the digital innovations, technological advancements that is being utilized by architects to design, supervise projects in the dawn of AI,” the statements reads in part ,adding that discussions will also feature how architecture is contributing to Uganda’s economy.
The symposium will convene architects, engineers, surveyors, interior designers, government officials, material suppliers, investors, and development partners.
This is meant to foster engagement and collaboration in improving the role of architects and other built environment professionals in economic development and innovation.
