Uganda Airlines to launch direct international flights to Mumbai India on October 7th , 2023
Uganda Airlines CEO ,Ms. Jenifer Bamuturaki ,has announced that the national carrier’s new direct route to Mumbai India shall be launched on October 7.
Uganda Airlines will then make three flights weekly to and from Mumbai. The flights will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The route will be the 12th destination that Uganda Airlines will be flying to since its revival.
Bamuturaki made the revelation about the new Mumbai route during a prelaunch breakfast meeting that was attended by the largely Indian community and business executives in Uganda.
“I am delighted about the opening of Mumbai because it is not only our second international route but because of its significance to bilateral relations, trade, tourism, and culture,” Bamuturaki said .
The Mumbai UR 430 direct flight will depart Entebbe international Airport at 20.25 pm every Monday and Wednesday, arriving in Mumbai at 06.05 am in the morning local time the next day. The Saturday flight will be depart at 17.30 pm arriving in Mumbai on Sunday at 03.30 am.
The return flight UR431 will depart Mumbai at 08.05 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, arriving in Entebbe six and a half hours later the same day. On Sundays the airline will depart Mumbai at 05.10 am for a same-day arrival in Entebbe at 08.40 am.
“We can’t wait to welcome you to have dinner in Entebbe, and breakfast in Mumbai,” said Uganda Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Adedayo Olawuyi. The direct service will shave a minimum of six hours off the travel time between Mumbai and Entebbe.
Currently, the airline flies regional routes –Nairobi and Mombasa in Kenya, South Sudan capital Juba, Kinshasa in DR Congo, and Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, and Zanzibar in Tanzania. It also flies to Mogadishu, Somalia and Bujumbura in Burundi.
