Uganda Airlines picking up on the Dubai route as Ugandans endorse national carrier

Ugandans have taken to flying the national carrier -the Uganda Airlines with its increased flights on the Dubai route.
The Airline is now flying one of the most modern aircrafts -the Airbus A330-800neo on the lucrative Dubai route with four flights per week . With the increased number of travelers flying Ugandan airlines officials now want to increase the number of flights to Dubai to seven.
The Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Manager at Uganda Airlines Ms. Shakila Rahim Lamar has been quoted by the media noting that the airline has done pretty well in the five months since it launched the Dubai route.
“The passenger rate of travel has spiked since the reopening of the economy and it coincided with the closure of the Dubai Expo as well as the festive season. We are optimistic that we shall hit our half-year target,” Shakila Rahim stated.
She said that Uganda Airlines is positioning itself as an enabler for increased international trade and tourism promotion by flying tourists and business people among others .“We are working with our embassies and other partners in these destinations to promote tourism by ensuring that Uganda Airlines is the Airline of choice for Tourists flying to Uganda,” Shakila Rahim said.
The Airbus A330 state-of-the-art aircraft has 20 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy Class seats and 210 Economy Class seats, bringing the total seat capacity to 258. Its capacity for cargo is 37 tons.
