STRONG WINDS AROUND LAKE VICTORIA-UGANDA NATIONAL METEOROLOGICAL AUTHORITY
The Uganda National Meteorological Authority has issued a warning about Strong winds around the Lake Victoria area.
The winds expected from week commencing 25th July are likely to blow off rooftops, uproot trees and cause structural damage, along with others.
“Currently the winds experienced on Lake Victoria are southerly winds of around 15kts but will increase to more than 25kts and large waves of more than 2 meters ,” a statement issued by the UNMA and signed by the Authority ‘s Executive Director David Elweru said in part.
