A Real Madrid legend is ‘sleeping at the club’s training ground’ after divorcing his wife, and there is now a £133m fight for his fortune.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Los Blancos hero Roberto Carlos is no longer with his wife Mariana Luccon after tying the knot in June 2009. The report states the divorce settlement is expected to be a ‘complicated one’ due to the 51-year-old’s mammoth wealth, which is valued at around £133m ($166m). As a result, he has reportedly temporarily moved to the club’s training ground, Real Madrid Sports City in Valdebebas.
Carlos’ wife is reportedly continuing to live at their main residence, while the former left-back’s in-laws are currently living in another one of his properties. Luccon and Carlos have two daughters together – Manuela and Mariana. Incidentally, the Brazilian spent 11 years at Madrid and won three Champions League trophies and four La Ligas titles.
A decade ago, the 2002 World Cup winner with Brazil admitted that he has 11 children with seven different women.
He said: “Now I live with Manuela and I have several around. I have seven in Brazil. I have one in Mexico, I have one in Hungary who lives in Alicante and the others live in Brazil.”

It remains to be seen how long Carlos, who is a club ambassador at Madrid, will take up residence at Los Blancos’ training ground and what will come of the divorce settlement.
