President Museveni Commissions NEC’S Meat And Beans Processing Factory In Kisozi Gomba

President Yoweri Museveni officially commissioned the NEC Meat and Beans Processing Limited .

Museveni was warmly received by NEC Managing Director, Lt. Gen. James Mugira, before taking a guided tour of the factory.

President Museveni tasked government ministers to actively support investors by ensuring reliable essential services, such as power infrastructure, are immediately accessible.

Museveni ssured the investors that Uganda has the capacity to supply the required raw materials. “Our coffee, milk and livestock production continue to grow because of proper organisation, and we shall continue mobilising our farmers to produce even more. In this Kisanja of No More Sleep, every minister must be omusumba (pastor) of their sector by ensuring that investors have the infrastructure they need to succeed,” the President emphasised .

NEC Managing Director, Lt. Gen. James Mugira, assured President Museveni and the country that the meat and beans produced by the company will of very high internationally accepted standards. He also said that it will help the UPDF and Uganda Police from importing dry rations from far away countries like Brazil .

” We are rceating jobs and offering locally processed beef suppliesnto the armed forces . We shall save foreign exchange when we buy locally ,” Mugira stated .

Located at the NEC Farm Katonga in Kisozi, Gomba District, the state-of-the-art facility is a joint venture between the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) and Kenyan investor Francis Ragwa.

The company located in Kisozi-Gomba  will be supplying meat and processed beef to the Uganda People’s Defence Forces and the Uganda Police. 

The company will also produce other products that include chocolate and meat byproducts.

Established to process locally produced livestock and beans into finished, high-quality food supplies for the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and the Uganda Police Force.

The factory is expected to reduce poverty and increase incomes by providing a reliable, sustainable market for local farmers across Uganda
