PRESIDENT MUSEVENI APPOINTS 16 ACTING HIGH COURT JUDGES

President Yoweri Museveni has appointed 16 High Court Judges in acting capacity for at least two years . This is the highest number of High Court judges appointed by the President to deal with the increasing number of cases and backlog in the judiciary .

Among those appointed are private legal practitioners , magistrates and legal officers in the government Ministries , Departments and Agencies (MDAs). Among the appointees is Mr. George Okello- a Commissioner at the Uganda Revenue Authority who was in charge of litigation .

The list also has some of the youngest appointees -in their early 40s meaning they will serve on the bench for a longtime to come .
