Pope Francis Calls Africans ‘Special’ For Opposing Homosexuality
Pope Francis responded to African opposition to the new declaration allowing for same-sex blessings by calling Africans a “special case” because “for them homosexuality is something ‘bad’ from a cultural point of view, they don’t tolerate it.”
“But in general, I trust that gradually everyone will be reassured by the spirit of the ‘Fiducia Supplicans’ declaration by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith: it aims to include, not divide,” Pope Francis continued.
Last week, Pope Francis addressed the controversy over the new directive by saying that “sensitivities” and “the places where one lives” should be taken into consideration.
