LANDS MINISTER NABAKOOBA HANDS OVER TRACTOR AND 17 GOVERNMENT MOTORCYCLES TO LC CHAIRPERSONS AS MITYANA DIOCESE MARKS 45 YEARS
The central government has fulfilled its pledge made by the Premier Robinah Nabbanja after Minister for Lands Housing and Urban Development Hon. Judith Nabakooba Nalule handed over a tractor to Mityana Diocese Bishop Ssalongo James Bukomeko as the Diocese celebrated 45 years of existence.
The colourful ceremony was held at St Andrews Cathedral church.
The Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba graced the celebrations to mark 45 years of Namukozi Diocese existence in Mityana district. Retired Bishop Paul Luzinda of Mukono Diocese was the main celebrant at the occasion . At least Ug.shs. 230M was raised in cash and another Ug.Shs. 400M in pledges. Rt Rev Dr. James Ssalongo and his wife Rose Nnalongo Bukomeko were in attendance .

At the same time , Minister Nabakooba handed over government motorcycles to LC chairpersons in Mityana district . The motorcycles will help facilitate the local leaders in the monitoring of government programs and mobilisation of the people to engage in productive work to improve household incomes a cross the district .
