Dr Joseph Muvawala the Busoga Kingdom Prime Minister, has vehemently rejected “random” claims by a jittery woman in London that she is married to the Kyabazinga, William Gabula Nadiope IV who is set to have a royal wedding next weekend.
Anna Alison through her lawyers and various voice clips has claimed that she is married to Gabula and that they have two daughters . She has written to Dr Stephen Kazimba, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda to stop the royal wedding .
Her lawyers Mugerwa and Partners Advocates and Solicitors say that if the Kyabazinga enters into another marriage with another woman he will be committing bigamy which is an offence. Nadiope is slated to wed Jovia Mutesi on November 18.
Now Muvawala has cut the kingdom’s loud silence on the matter and told journalists that Allison has no marriage certificate to prove her wild cliams.
“His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV has never been married to anyone under the known forms of marriage in Uganda or elsewhere. He has never sired any children and is not a British citizen. And the purported Alison Ann Gabula is unknown to him. There is no record of any marriage of his majesty in the United Kingdom or anywhere else in the world and the content of the said letter is subject to police investigations,” Muvawala stated.
Muvawala said the kingdom has filed a complaint to the police. He said lawyers representing the kingdom have been given strict instructions to commence civil and criminal proceedings against all persons involved in the scheme to tarnish the Kyabazinga’s name.
“As the kingdom, I have formally reported these malicious and defamatory occurrences to the police and other security agencies who have since commenced investigations into these criminal and illicit activities intended to create public panic and anxiety among the Basoga and the general public.
The investigations have since led to the arrest of some culprits who are offering useful guidance on the motive and the person behind this social media blackmail activity. And the general activity public will be notified on the subsequent action and prosecution,” he added.
On Saturday, Muvawala received a Shs 51 million contribution from Kaliro High School, 150 crates of soda, 100 cartons of plastic soda, and 100 cartons of water from Century Bottling Company.
