Joan Kagezi Murder Case: Four Men Charged , Remanded to Luzira Maximum Prison
Four suspects Daniel Kisseka Kiwanuka, John Kibuuka , Nasur Abdallah Mugonole, and John Musajagge who were nabbed last week for alleged murder of Joan Kagezi have been produced in court and charged with terrorism and murder. They appeared before Chief Magistrate Elias Kakooza at the Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court.

The charges are related to the tragic shooting of former Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Namazzi Kagezi, on March 30, 2015. The suspects were not allowed to enter plea because the magistrate didint have the jurisdiction to try a capital offence like murder.
Many Ugandan prosecutors and learned counsel turned up to ensure that the late Kagezi’s family get justice in this case
Chief Magistrate Kakooza remanded the suspects to Luzira prison until November 20, 2023 when their case will come up for mention .
The prosecution was led by Thomas Jatiko, an Assistant DPP, and Lilian Omara, a Chief state Attorney.

President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the armed forces at the weekend announced that the thugs responsible for the cold murder of Assistant Director Of Public Prosecution Joan Kagezi at a market in Bweyogerere on March 15,2015 have finally been arrested .
The Kagezi case had gone cold after the key suspects went into hiding for over eight years . Security sources said that after eight years in hiding the suspects had sneaked back in Kampala to live a normal life forgetting that the security were still trailing them .
