The late Kagezi’s children
The charges are related to the tragic shooting of former Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Namazzi Kagezi, on March 30, 2015. The suspects were not allowed to enter plea because the magistrate didint have the jurisdiction to try a capital offence like murder.
Many Ugandan prosecutors and learned counsel turned up to ensure that the late Kagezi’s family get justice in this case
Chief Magistrate Kakooza remanded the suspects to Luzira prison until November 20, 2023 when their case will come up for mention .
The prosecution was led by Thomas Jatiko, an Assistant DPP, and Lilian Omara, a Chief state Attorney.
