Entebbe International Airport Records Highest-Ever Monthly Passenger Traffic in July 2025
Entebbe International Airport handled 230,577 passengers in July 2025, the highest monthly traffic in the airport’s history. This included 119,127 arriving and 111,450 departing passengers, averaging 7,437 per day. Arrivals exceeded departures during the month.
The previous highest monthly traffic was recorded in December 2024, with 222,301 passengers, an average of 7,171 arrivals, and departures per day.

The surge in July 2025 was partly driven by the arrival of delegations for CHAN 2024, increased tourism promotion, international conferences, and enhanced airline connectivity.
In terms of cargo, the airport handled a total of 5,863 metric tonnes, including 3,961 tonnes of exports and 1,902 tonnes of imports.
The sharp rise in traffic at Entebbe International Airport has boosted sports tourism with Uganda hosting the African Nations Championship Group c games that include South Africa , Algeria and Niger .
Many of the travelling fans have hailed UCAA for the seamless experience while at the now expanded and revamped airport .
