Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama, has announced that the Electoral Commission (EC) has extended the update of the National Voters Register for seven more days to allow more eligible Ugandans to register and update their details ahead of the 2025/2026 general elections. The updating exercise will not end on Februay ,2025.
Byabakama said the extension follows complaints from the general public about the low turn up and failing EC equipment . So far the EC has registered 361,432 new voters and processed 292,021 transfer applications.
