Controversial politician and former Kampala Mayor, Nasser Ntege Ssebagala alias Seya is dead . Ssebagalaβs younger brother and Kawempe North MP, Latif Ssebagala told the media that his elder brother died at International Hospital Kampala (IHK) where he under went surgery after being admitted there more than three weeks ago.
Ssebagala was said to have suffered an intestinal obstruction after he fell in his bathroom. With little education background Ssebagala was elected Mayor of Kampala in 2006 an office her held until 2011. A wealthy businessman , before his death, Ssebagala had expressed interest in contesting for Kampala Lord Mayor seat in the 2021 general election and Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi wineβs National Unity Party ,(NUP).
Speaker of Parliament , Ms. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga in a message said she was saddened to hear about the passing on of Al Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala. βYou made your contribution to Uganda in the various positions of leadership you held. You have run your race and will be dearly missed. May Allah grant you Jannah. Innalillahi wa innailayhi rajiun,β she stated .
Family sources told ugandaupdatenews.com that preliminary plans indicate that he will be buried on in Kisaasi.
