A MANHUNT IS UNDERWAY FOR TWO GUNMEN WHO SHOT AT KENSINGTON POLICE POST IN KYANJA
A Joint Security Force has mounted a manhunt for two armed thugs who attempted to attack a police post at Kensington apartments in Kyanja, a Kampala suburb.
The gunmen were riding on a boda boda . Security sources said the attackers were repelled and fled on their motorcycle. No police officer were injured in the incident as police reorganizes policing in the city after several police posts were closed down after they became targets of increased armed attacks by unknown gunmen .
Security officials said they were studying CCTV footage collected from the Kyanja area to track down ,the armed men and identify the number plate of the motorcycle they were riding on.
In 2016, Police identified Kyanja as one of the armed robbery hot spots in the Kampala Metropolitan area. Armed men attacked Busiika Police station in Luwero Distric-, killing two officers on duty two weeks ago.
