51 AFGHANISTAN REFUGEES ARRIVE IN UGANDA AT THE REQUEST OF USA

Uganda’s Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a statement this morning announcing the arrival of the first group of 51 Afghanistan refugees following a request from the government of United States of America led by President Joe Biden .
Uganda is considered a strong ally of the USA especially in the fight against terrorists in the Horn of Africa .The refugees who have temporarily been booked in hotels around the airport area in Entebbe were transported to Uganda on a chartered flight. The refugees include men, women and children.
The regime in Kampala has offered to host in the upwards of 2,000 Afghan refugees who are fleeing the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan. Uganda has been globally recognized for its hospitality and being a refugee hosting country.
Uganda is one of the largest refugee-hosting nations in the world, with over 1,400,000 refugees.
“The decision to host those in need is informed by the government of Uganda’s consistent policy of receiving refugees and persons in distress as well as playing a responsible role in matters of international concern,” the statement said.
