Uganda’s Ambassadors Tour Kiira Vehicle Plant , To Market Kayoola Buses Globally

Uganda’s ambassadors in foreign missions have toured the Kiira Vehicle Plant in Jinja and pledged  to promote and  market the Kayoola buses in the regional, continental  and international markets estimated to hit 19 Trillion USDs before 2030.

The ambassadors led by the Director of Regional and International Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador, Philip Odida ,were received at the KVP by the Kiira Motors Executive Chairman , Prof . Sandy Stevens Tickodri-Togboa , Director Finance and Administration , Arthur Tumusiime Asiimwe , Director   Product Development , Eng. Richard Madanda , and Ms. Thatcher Nakimuli Mpanga ,who represented ,Dr. Monica Musenero ,the Minister of Science Technology and Innovation .

Ambassador  Odida,  said that the ambassadors in Uganda’s foreign missions  are the key promoters of Uganda’s interests abroad and their deliberate efforts to positively highlight the viability of Ugandan-made vehicles to the rest of the world will create market for the final Kiira Motors products.

“ We commend Kiira Motors for taking the lead in the development of Uganda’s nascent automotive industry . We are going to use all the assets available to us to promote and market Uganda’s premium products -the Kayoola buses in regional and international markets ,” he added.

Phase one of the kiira vehicle Plant which has been constructed by the UPDF under NEC is at 98% completion and has capacity to produce 22 buses a day and 5,000 a year . Some of the Kiira Motors products now on the market include the much famed Kayoola EVs – the fully electric buses and the Kayoola Diesel Coaches (KDC).

While at the KVP the biggest in East and Central Africa , the over 70 ambassadors toured the production facilities which included , the body shop, paint booths , chassis line, trim line , quality inspection and testing among others.
