Uganda Signs Search and Rescue Agreement with South Sudan

Uganda has signed a Search and Rescue (SAR) Agreement with South Sudan.The agreement will greatly improve on compliance of both countries.
It spells out roles of both in situations which require support for one another in the unfortunate event of an aircraft accident or incident.
Uganda has previously won international aviation awards for air safety after scoring 81.8% in an audit which was conducted in 2017. This was above the global average of 73% and the African and Indian Ocean (APII) states average of 58% according to ICAO.
Uganda Civil Aviation Authority is the regulator of the aviation industry in Uganda.
