Samantha Muhwezi Lands New Role AS Chief Operating Officer At Uganda National Oil Company
Samantha Muhwezi, daughter to Ugandan security minister Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi, has recently taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC).
Established under the 2013 Petroleum Act, UNOC is responsible for managing Uganda’s oil sector interests, with a focus on sustainable exploitation of the country’s commercially viable oil resources.
As the UNOC COO, Samantha Muhwezi supervises several critical units within the company, including the Technical Services Department, National Content Department, Health and Safety Department, as well as Supply Chain and IT Department. Her position involves overseeing daily operations and ensuring efficient functioning.
Samantha Muhwezi’s impressive education profile and experience having previous worked at TotalEnergies ,contributed to her selection for the topjob.
She holds a Bachelor of Lawsfrom the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a Postgraduate Diploma, and a Master of Laws from BPP University London UK.
She is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales. Samantha Muhwezi worked with Linklaters LLP, a renowned corporate and financial law firm.
She is married to Jasi Kassami a son to former Secretary to Treasury , the late Chris Kassami.
