Relief as Lands Minister Nabakooba intervenes in Mityana land disputes

Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba has met residents of Kabule and Miggo villages in Mityana municipality and stopped on going evictions of bibanja owners .
The Minister has also stopped illegal activities of boundary opening and collection of ground rent (Busuulu) by “ landlords” from desperate bibanja owners .
“I do not want to hear that there is a landlord who threatening residents until investigations are finalized to determine the true ownership of the disputed pieces of land . The residents should be more vigilante and report to the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) any indiviudals who are threatening to carry out illegal evictions , “ she stated .
This is after a one Faizo Luyima claims to have bought 168 acres of land and had given notice to the residents to pay him busuulu.
Ms Prossy Mwanjuzi, the acting RDC of Mityana warned that anyone who attempts to evict people shall be arrested . “Let them stay warned because we need to give the minister time to look through the documentation to determine the ownership of the disputed land .“
